Robert Studley
Robert provides counseling to children, adolescents, and adults of all ages, as well as their families. Robert helps his clients work through a wide variety of challenges including disruptive behaviors, anxiety, attachment, and difficulty regulating emotions. Additionally, Robert specializes in trauma-informed care. A top priority for Robert is to ensure that his clients feel safe and comfortable, as counseling is a valued partnership where the provider and client work together to accomplish the client’s goals. He understands that his clients are the experts of their own lives and encourages them to take an active role in the counseling process. His holistic approach to therapy stems from the idea that people, at their core, are genuinely “good.” While certain experiences might cast a cloud on clients’ lives, his approach allows clients to function and to shine as their best selves. Robert believes counseling should be authentic, so his approach is dynamic for each unique individual.
BIOGRAPHY
Robert is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling both from McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois.
Robert currently serves as a counselor in a private practice. Leading up to this, Robert worked as a counselor at community agencies. Additionally, he has had the opportunity to work with specialized populations including teenagers in the juvenile justice system, youth whose parents are incarcerated, children in foster care, and adoptive families. While much of his experience is working with diverse children and adolescents, both individually and in groups, he is also skilled in working with adult clients of all ages.
Robert is well-versed in crisis management from his experience as a crisis worker, case manager, and supervisor. His work and leadership in this program gives him a unique perspective as a counselor. Robert’s previous private practice work prior to Radzom Counseling focused on individual and group counseling for middle school and high school-aged students to promote social skills, stress and time management, and effective communication.
With an understanding that learning is lifelong, Robert continually seeks to expand his counseling knowledge through professional development in order to better serve his clients. Throughout his career, Robert has trained other mental health professionals and community members on various topics including Trauma-Informed Care and LGBTQ+. Furthermore, Robert takes an active role in his community by volunteering.
Raised in Charleston, SC on southern cooking and chivalry, Robert radiates comfort and hospitality toward all of his clients. As a member of a Military family, Robert moved around the country as a child and chose to put down roots in Illinois. When he’s not in a counseling session, Robert enjoys being outdoors hiking, rock-climbing, or fishing, and he understands that all of his clients have special interests and talents, too. He makes a concerted effort to establish a rapport with his clients, learn about them, and connect on a personal level.
